Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a hands-on approach to improve circulation, improve overall function and decrease pain. Massage Therapy is not only an excellent tool to promote relaxation, it also plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process and in the treatment of chronic pain and common injuries. Some conditions that may benefit from massage therapy include muscle strain or spasm, edema (swelling), bursitis, tendonitis, headaches, sports injuries, fibromyalgia and stress.

Hot Stone Massage is now available by a registered massage therapist! Basalt stones are used because of their volcanic nature to hold heat, as well as giving a grounding property to the body. With the moist heat of the stones, the therapist is able to give a more effective treatment to deep muscles without the deep pressure. Hot stone therapy has many benefits such as release of muscle tension, decreased joint pain (arthritis), decreased menstrual pain/cramps, digestive problems, and increased circulation and waste removal. Cool stones can also be incorporated into treatment for injuries to soft tissues, tension headaches, sinus congestion, and varicose veins.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

  • In the treatment room, the therapist will conduct a physical examination, focused on your main complaints.
  • When it is time for your treatment, the therapist will explain how to get onto the table. You can remove whatever articles of clothing you are comfortable with. The lotion should not stain your clothing.
